Karoshi's Caruso - Manic Monday

Karoshi's PSG tracker, Karoshi's Caruso, is now fully functional. To celebrate this, another beta version has been published for debugging purposes, named Manic Monday.

The tracker itself is still being developed, but now both the pattern editor and the track editor are fully operative. A Win32 tool has been included to convert the data files into asMSX compliant source code.

HispaMSX, the Spanish-language MSX portal, have just announced their new BBS. This great new feature should bring back some nice memories for many of you, and can even be accessed with your MSX by using the telnet client for Inter Nestor Lite.

MSX Overclocking - Disconnect WAIT pin

Marcel Delorme managed to increase the speed of his Philips NMS8245 with 10% by disconnecting one pin from the MSX-ENGINE. In MSX computers, there is an extra wait state in the M1 cycle of the Z80. For every memory read and write, the MSX-ENGINE sends a WAIT signal to the Z80.

A new version of Bargain, an image compression and decompression toolkit for SCREEN 5 to SCREEN 12 has been released. The new version adds better error-correction, allowing you to load files compressed with Bargain versions earlier than 4.6 as well. The kit comes complete with source code and a filebrowser.

The ever growing retrogaming music archives of Retro PC Game Music were updated with the soundtrack of MSX Magazine's MSX2+ shooter Yoshida Construction Company.
