bgMSX - More than 1,000 songs

bgMSX, a site dedicated to MSX music, now contains more than 1,000 songs from various MSX software.

On December 28th we opened a poll in which we asked: 'In 2007, my main MSX activities will be...'. After a staggering 513 unique votes, these are the results:

  1. Playing MSX games and demos (26.71%)

A new beta version of EdiOS, a graphical user interface for MSX, was released today. Contrary to SymbOS, EdiOS is not an OS replacement, but a graphical shell for MSX-DOS2.

Kralizec have updated their website, revealing that the MSX development teams Toybox and Lemonize are subsidiary Kralizec brands used for game remakes and MSX1 productions, respectively.

A new alpha version of PenkoDS, the recently released MSX emulator for Nintendo DS has been released. In this new release, speed of the emulation was increased and some bugs were corrected such as the management of the transparency in mode 2 and the redundancy of the files in the file selector.

We have just added a new link to our overview of MSX websites. The new Spanish website MSX Images contains a growing collection of pictures of MSX computers, hardware, software (covers) and peripherals. Visitors of the website are encouraged to upload their own pictures.

A new version of SCMD, the multichannel PCM and multichip soundplayer for MSX has been released. In this release, a bug that occured when 'q2' was played during vertical retrace was fixed and the accuracy of the tempo setting was improced. The SCMD player allows you to play multiple samples on one or even two SCC cartridges at the same time, which is similar to playing MOD-files.

A new version of MESS, the Multiple Emulator Super System based on MAME has been released. As usual, this version incorporates all changes which were made to the latest version of MAME and some emulation specific changes. This version fixes incorrect PAL framerates in the MSX2 emulation.
