And suddenly, out of the blue, there is a new contest, organized by the French/English website Passion MSX. In a way, there are quite a few similarities with the popular MSXdev contests, the biggest difference will be the target platform: MSX2.

On the MadriSX 25th anniversary event, held last Saturday June 28th, Matra showcased FLAX. FLAX is a new type of Flash cartridge for your MSX, a device to which you can upload a (game) ROM image.

Italian MSX programmer Marco Rossin has sent us Ghibli 0.2 to add to our growing Freeware Download database. GHIBLI is a symbolic debugger designed to aid development of 64K-based MSX-DOS applications.

From XL2s comes the tenth entry for the MEGA Challenge: Blur promo. The promo part of the title refers to the state of the game, it's not completely finished yet, but it's nonetheless something completely new.

Entry number nine for the MEGA Challenge comes from John Hassink (DemonSeed) and Paco Santos Ramirez (EVPON). LEDA is a vertical shooter like Aleste, but then in 64x48 pixels.

MSX Solutions, the map shrine from only_69, has been updated with a new map: the 1989 Mario clone Super Boy II, by Zemina. As always, these maps are highly practical for gamers and very interesting for game designers.

You may have noticed that various things are going on in the MSX Revival lately, such as the recent transfer of the MSX trademarks from MSX Association to the MSX Licensing Corporation and the fact that there still isn't a Western edition of the 1chipMSX yet.

The fourth MEGA Challenge entry from Yermani Soft (Germán Gómez Herrera) is called Western. This game is of the point 'n shoot genre in wildwest-style. This game requires MSX2, 128Kb RAM and 128KB VRAM.
