Last year, the European website of MSX-Association caused a bit of a stir during the short period it was online. One speculation after another kept the scene busy. And suddenly, the same European website disappeared.

A new version of ccz80 was released yesterday.
MSX-veterans Delta Soft have updated their website. You can read all about their latest game under development: Thunderbirds to the Rescue. This game runs on MSX2, MSX2+ and turbo-R, supports the Moonsound, and will be released on disk and on Compact Flash. Screenshots of this new production and a promo version can both be obtained from the Delta Soft website.
The MSX-version of Gradius-2 (a.k.a. Nemesis 2) is a spin-off story of the Gradius series, developed specifically for the MSX and later ported to X68000 and PSP under the title "Nemesis 90 Kai". As with many other Konami megarom titles for MSX, it suffered from the bug in the timing routine that lets it run at twice its normal speed if the processor is fast enough.
Miss MSX Megapoll
It's been a while since MRC organized a megapoll, high time to revive this spectacle from the attic! In this megapoll we get to choose Miss MSX, which is the best looking female character in an MSX game.
The poll publication scheme is a bit off at the moment, but nonetheless a new poll has been prepared. Prior to going to the new poll, let's have a look at the outcome of the MSXdev'09 poll which ran for the past 3 weeks. What could be changed for MSXdev'09 compared to MSXdev'08?

You may recall the Alien 8 MSX2 remake gaining very positive reactions from the MSX scene, not too long ago.
It's no secret within the MSX community that an MSX mouse in good condition is hard to find these days. Most of them are low-DPI devices that use the problematic ball-and-wheels mechanism, which doesn't work quite well after all these years.
There are some adapters for RS-232 and PS/2 mouses out there, but those are also rare to find and/or expensive.
