The Karoshi Corporation has just announced yet another game for MSXdev'08: La Corona Encantada. This Spanish team is no stranger to the yearly MSXdev contest. Each year they manage to bring up a game which is usually of high quality, especially in the graphics department.

With only five days to go, a new finished entry pops up out of the blue. Italian MSX fan Luca Giglioli (robylu) has submitted his entry for this yearly contest: Formula Dice. Labeled by the MSXdev website as a Managerial game, this game is all about car racing and -indeed- all the management issues surrounding such an event. Interestingly, the game has been made in MSX-BASIC.

Tomorrow, on January 24th, the annual MSX Fair in Nijmegen will take place again. The following participants will be present at this event:

  • openMSX Team - Demonstration of the upcoming openMSX 0.7.0., the new Catapult and the debugger GUI.

Django has once more provided the world with partial translations of Japanese MSX games.

Z80ST-Software has released a new version of their ayFX replayer for MSX.

A post on the Sega 8bit forum SMS Power revealed that Fukio "MTJ" Mitsuji, the game and character designer of Taito's Bubble Bobble, passed away last year on December 11t

We're more than two weeks into the year 2009 already, high time for a new poll! Prior to introducing the new poll, let's have a look at the outcome of the -less serious- MRC boss poll. After 38 votes, here is the result:

It has been quiet around Bazix in the past half year. In summer 2008, they announced that they had ended their cooperation with MSX Association during a situation that still leads to debates.

Alien 8 MSX2 remake

Manuel Pazos (Guillian) has made an MSX2 remake of the classic game Alien 8, released by Ultimate Play the Game in 1985.

Django has once again released a partial English translation of an otherwise barely understandable game. This time it concerns the 1987 RPG Zukkoke Yajikita Onmitsudoutyuu, an MSX2 game by HAL.
