GXSCC, by Gashisoft, is a very special MIDI-Player. Like most other MIDI-Players, it is capable of playing files in SMF, MID and RPC format. What makes it special is that it uses SCC-software-wavetable emulation to make every MIDI file sound like a good old SCC chiptune.
EGG started selling the 11th lineup of retro-software. Again, all titles are old games from FM-Towns, PC-88 and MSX computers, converted to run on Windows PC's. The MSX conversion run on the core of the upcoming MSXPLAYer.
A few weeks ago I mentioned the Sharp J-Sky mobile phone for the Japanese market. This phone has a color LCD screen, Digital camera, and could execute JAVA code, like games from Konami (Salamander for instance). Now, Vodafone Europe has launched it's "Live" service for mobile phone's. There are two mobile phone's ready for this service: The Nokia 7650 and the Sharp GX10.
fMSXSO 1.30
A new version of this Japanese fMSX-port has been released today. In the beginning, fMSXSO aimed at emulating the OPLL (FM-PAC) through MIDI.

Shortly after beta 9, the translation team of Shalom released beta 10 of the Portuguese translation of Shalom (Knightmare 3). According to the team, this will be the final beta. The next version will be the final release. Bosses 7 and 8 are translated now as well.

Adriano da Cunha ripped 4 MIDI files from Illusion City during the translation process. These MIDI files can be downloaded from his site. Some of them end quite abruplty, as they do so in the game as well.
After some months of silence, well known game maker Compile has released a new puzzle game called Pochitto-Nyah. The game looks like it's a new Puyo Puyo type of game. The main difference with Puyo Puyo is that you have more control over the moment blocks with the same colors disappear after placing the new ones.
