Steampunk casemod
Lord S.M.Zett recently submitted his entry DAQ Lord of Idar to MSXDev'10, yet keeps himself busy with his other MSX hobby: case mods. You may have seen one or more of Darkstone's spectacular case mods during fairs and meetings. His latest case mod, in a style called steampunk, is mainly made of wood and contains an NMS8245 motherboard.

A few days ago, the SMDNearDark released a new version of Runit - a tool to run disk images directly from IDE/SCSI based devices on real MSX computers.
The mp3 corner of our free MSX downloads database just got a massive update, as MrRudi and his fellow composers gave us permission to add all the tracks from Arranger - The Complete Works for all of our visitors to enjoy.
In December, we started a poll in which we asked how you would like to control MSX software. After 88 votes, here are the results:
- Keyboard (72.73%)
- Joystick (19.32%)
- Joypad (7.95%)
The vast majority favors the keyboard, and for some models - like the excellent Philips NMS8245 - it's certainly a joy to use it.
C-BIOS 0.25
A new version of C-BIOS, the free system ROM for emulators, has been released only moments ago.
All the thrill and suspense of this year's MSXdev freshly came to a conclusion and as we speak, the jury probably retreats to decide upon an undoubtedly hard verdict. In the mean time, another popular game development contest was running at Konamito.
MSXdev10 - Closed
The yearly MSX game programming challenge has come to an end. Not with the big last minute rush we hoped for, but nonetheless with eight entries; eight brand new MSX1 games, all for free!
With only 10 contestants left, the choices are getting harder and harder in our Ultimate MSX Game Character Battle Brawl! What started as a massive tournament with no less than 296 contestants is now rapidly progressing towards an exciting finale.
The first month of 2011 has come to an end already - and while we are waiting on the last details of the MSXdev 2010 finale - we might as well have a look at some statistics. With a distance, the newly released DISK tops the charts.
