Since we last reported about SCMD several new versions of this multichannel PCM and multichip soundplayer for MSX have been released. The most interesting is the release of a new branch with SCMD 2, which does need the R800 of the turboR for speed, but in return offers additional support for MSX-AUDIO.

Ablaze promo added to Downloads

About 13 years ago, an MSX developer named Cybernetic released a playable promo of a game that was to be a Nemesis styled shooter for MSX2, one that could scroll in multiple directions. Unfortunately, the game was never finished.

The third entry to Konamito's MSX-BASIC contest 2010 has just arrived: Tomás Baenas (Tomi) has created a nize platform puzzler called Trepón in which you are a little dragon who has to kill the evil ghosts and collect 35 hearts in order to rescue the princess.

FMPSG 014 - Mystic Aurora

Since we last reported about FMPSG, no less than 5 releases of these Japanese chiptune audio CDs were released. Each of these CDs contains one or more tracks composed with MSX soundchips by well known Japanese chiptune artists like Wiz, Beepboy and Chabinn.

Kotaku goes MSX

Kotaku, one of the most popular blogs on video gaming, have published a brief article on MSX. Although the article doesn't contain a lot of information, and nothing new to the average MSX fan, it's very nice to see MSX pop up on a website like this.

On the web we spotted a nice Japanese website called TimeMachine MSX, which shows several decent quality pictures of popular Japanese MSX computers and their specifications. The website was added to our collection of links to MSX (related) websites.

Compile Heart and D4 Enterprise have come to an agreement which allows the Japanese game developer to create games based on Compile classics.

Relevo announce Los Templos de Fuego

Relevo Videogames have announced that early 2011 they will release the sequel to La Corona Encantada. The story is set 15 years after the La Corona Encantada incident, and it is located at the three fire shrines in Hyoth Kingdom, where prince Rekki, now as the king, will face a new betrayal.

For a while, the Spanish MSX website Konamito has been organizing MSX-BASIC contests. This year, they initiated a new edition, to which two entries have been submitted by now.
