Two years ago the last spanish magazine CALL MSX disappeared. AAMSX announced a new Spanish paper magazine: MSX AREA. The first edition will be for for sale at the upcoming meeting in Barcelona on Saturday June 19th. The people behind MSX AREA are Juanmi Ortuño and Julio Gracia.

On Saturday, September 25th, there will be a retro gaming and computing day in Putten, the Netherlands. This event is organized by the Computer Verzamelaars (collectors) Mailing List. During the day, you can talk, trade or show here your MSX or other retro computing stuff. The doors of the CVML Meeting are opened from 12:00 till 17:00.

A new version of C-BIOS was released today. New in this version, apart from fixing the usual minor niggles:

  • VRAM size is now properly checked, fixing R-Type's V9938 detection
  • C-BIOS doesn't lie anymore about the interrupt frequency
  • Don't di; halt when no ROM is found, the warning in openMSX may be confusing

On June 19th, Kralizec will release their new game: The Goonies 'R' Good Enough. Compared to Konami's title, this version is a more accurate adaption of the well known movie from 1985. This new Kralizec game will be on sale at the 37th MSX users meeting in Barcelona.

msxDS, is an MSX emulator for Nintendo DS and DS Lite, which is based on fmsxDS v.0.07 by Nyagosu. msxDS supports MSX/MSX2 and MSX2+ emulation. Today Popolon released an update for msxDS. New in this version:

  • Fixed a bug in the management of background color for screen 0 mode
  • Added tape emulation.
