The Dutch MSX group MSX-NBNO, known for their XSW magazines, distribution of several software titles and the always interesting Oss MSX fairs have decided that, after more than 10 years of serving the MSX community, the time had come to end their MSX activities.
DAPHNE is a Free laserdisc game emulator that allows you to play laserdisc arcade games on PC.
Starting on July 6 during the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Video Games Live will play various videogame music in cooperation with the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra. Among the game music that will be played are titles like: Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Outrun and Sonic.
8bit Mini Game Compo
At MiniGameCompo an 8bit mini game competition has opened and will run until the end of September. MSX is one of the systems on which 8bit entries are allowed and moderated. If you can't get enough of challenges be sure to check it out.
MRC Downtime
For the second time since we moved to dedicated webhosting, we suffered from a long period of downtime due to technical diffuculties. But, we're back!
So what happened? After a harddisk crash, a new harddisk and Debian Sarge were freshly installed on our webserver.
On the Karoshi forums a new programming contest was launched: Let's Pong. The objective: to create an exciting pong remake for 16kB MSX1 computers in only 1kB of memory.

A new version of the F1 Spirit remake for PC has been released. t's an updated version of the remake that ended at the 13th position of the 2004 Retro Remakes competition.
After the main character of Ape Escape appearing in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, a Metal Gear minigame in the upcoming Ape Escape 3 was to be expected.
fMSX for PSP 0.6
During our downtime, several new versions of fMSX for PSP, an MSX emulator for Sony PSP handhelds were released. The most recent release is version 0.6.
