Favorite MSX game character megapoll [round 5]

On April 16th we started a new megapoll, in search of the most favorite MSX game character. Out of 162 nominees, 12 managed to get a place in the fifth round, of which you can now cast your votes right here. The 6 winners of this round will continue their battle on the frontpage poll.

Less than half a year after reaching the 2.000.000 milestone in December last year, we've already reached the big 2M5!

Only a week after ASCII opened up a website where the One Chip MSX can be pre-ordered no less than 1.000 One Chip MSX computers were sold.

MarMSX released a new utility called Screen 2 Show, which is a Win32 program that creates binary .SCR files that contain compressed pictures for SCREEN 2 that can be displayed on MSX using BLOAD "FILENAME.SCR",R.

At Robsy's MSX Workshop you can download a tiny package that includes the asMSX sourcecode to replay 22,050 or 11,025 Hz WAV files in MSX using the keyboard click function. A program in C is also included to convert 8-bit mono WAV files to the 1-bit format that the program uses.

We received a message from an unknown MSX friend, pointing us towards the Sony PSP related website PSP Hacker. Over here, an fMSX 3.0-based MSX emulator for this new Sony portable device can be found, called HitBit emulator 0.0.

The Japanese emulator developer Nyagosu has released a new version of fMSXSE, an MSX emulator for Windows CE platforms. This new version is based on fMSX 3.0 and properly functions on PocketPC 2003 SE.
