Online MSX ROM database
For the last couple of weeks the blueMSX and openMSX teams have been working to create an online ROM database intended for emulation purposes.
openMSX 0.5.1
A new edition of openMSX and Catapult, its user-friendly GUI/launcher, has just been released. The most important changes in this new release:
- A redesigned ROM database. This new format is supported by both openMSX 0.5.1 and the next blueMSX; other emulators are welcome to adopt it as well.
The mp3 recording to one of the entries to the MRC Airwaves Challenge, A winter's tale by Meits, has been replaced with a new recording. The version we published was recorded at 60Hz, while it was intended for 50Hz. The result: a song that was a lot faster than it should be.
Marcos Daniel, the author of Final Copy and the EPROM bits reorganizer released a tool for MSX which can create .DSK files and write .DSK files to disk.
In November 2004, a new on-line magazine called Revista Jogos80 was launched. The pilot edition turned out to be a huge success, which resulted in the release of Revista Jogos80 - Edition 1 last week.

MSX-EMU mailinglist
Yesterday, a new MSX mailinglist was opened, focusing entirely on MSX emulation. The main language of this mailinglist, MSX-EMU is Portuguese. Like several other MSX mailinglists, the service is provided by Yahoo! groups.
GFX lib 2005-03-03
The GFX library for Hitech-C is evolving rapidly. Today, a new version was released, incorporating several new functions to control the PSG. The GFX lib package now containts 12 examples (sources and compiled) to demonstrate the ease of use and power of this library.
Hackurl has released yet another MSX inspired song. This time he made an OPLL version of the battle song of Romancing Saga 3. On Hackurl's website you can find many other songs recorded with or inspired by MSX.
