Maggoo has released a new version of his fantastic MSX Platform game engine VScreen.

After demonstrating them at MSXRio 2004. SLotman of MSX files has now released 5 new MSX games at the same time. Four of these games are ports of Sega SG-1000 games.

After releasing a new version of the English translation of Illusion City, Adriano da Cunha released a new version of the Portuguese translation of Illusion City as well. The changelog of this new version is the same as the one for the English version listed here.

A new version of Bargain, an image compression toolkit for MSX, has been released today. Apart from several optimizations which increase compression and decompression speed, the following things have been changed:

  • Removed support for Graphsaurus files, as this feature was barely used
  • Fixed bug which occured when using RAM disks larger than 2MB

On August 8th we started the finale of the 'Which MSX has the best design' megapoll. Today, the time has come to count the votes and pick a winner. After the nominations and 4 rounds of voting in the MRC forums only 4 MSX computers remained.

It's the first of October, so lets have a look at which files have been downloaded the most in September 2004. As usual, new releases are doing very well, and so do the entries for the Bounce Challenge. Keep in mind, you have less than 2 weeks left to complete your entries for this challenge!.

In March we reported about the restart of MCWF after a period of silence. Now, we would like to remind you about the meeting that is going to be held this saturday, the 2nd of october 2004. The meeting will take place in 'Buurtcentrum Risdam' in Hoorn, Scheerder 1 (The Netherlands).
