The Russian Yamaha YIS-805/YIS-503 MSX computers have a rather unique feature for MSX computers. As they were used for educational purposes, they were designed to work in a student/teacher network and were thus equipped with a network module. tnt23 has recently figured out a way to connect MSX computers with such network modules to the RS232 port of a PC using a fairly easy-to build device.
A nice and quick challenge doesn't go without nice and quick results, so here they already are: the results to the MRC MuSiXmas Challenge. The juror of this challenge, Hally of Vorc.org, carefully listened to all the entries, giving each a rating. The following results are the outcome:

MSXKun just finished a level editor for the MSX ROM he made himself: Eat BLue! 2004. This ROM was part of the MsxDev'04 competition and is able to load user levels. And as of now it's possible to create those levels with the leveleditor.
Last year the first edition of the "Most important MSX news of..." megapoll was held. We liked it a lot and therefore decided to make a tradition out of it. So as of today you can send in your nominations for the "Most important MSX news of 2004" megapoll.
10 days before Christmas we got the idea to do a nice theme-based music competition. The MRC MuSiXmas Challenge was born. In Christmas spirit, every contestant would get one prize by default: a cool MSX button. The winner of the challenge (soon to be announced) wins an extra prize: ASCII's MSX Magazine 1 (including MSXPLAYer).
Wolf_ sent us the eleventh and final entry to the MRC MuSiXmas challenge. This song, created for a 128k Moonsound in Moonblaster Wave, is called SillyConeChristmas. With SillyCone Christmas, Wolf_ managed to give the Moonsound a nice Konami SCC sound.
The tenth entry to the MRC MuSiXmas challenge was created by Vincent van Dam. It's a PSG tune with a happy sample in it, called KVK-Xmas. The .COM file needs MSX-DOS1 or higher and shows a nice uppercase/lowercase effect.

Frederik Boelens sent us two entries to the MRC MuSiXmas challenge, both of which are created in Moonblaster FM for Moonsound.
The seventh entry to the MRC MuSiXmas challenge was created by ccfg and is called 'Joulubugi'. It is a PSG arrangement of the Finnish christmas song Heinillä härkien kaukalon. ccfg uses the PT3 player from Vincent van Dam.
