Today we have added the second demo version of the new MSX Operating System, MNBIOS, to our downloads database. As the current version of the OS only supports the Talent DPF-550 disk drive, this demo version comes completely packaged with openMSX, so that you can run the demo version of this OS on your PC.

Today a new version of the MSX emulator for Nokia Series 60 phones, fMSX/S60, was released. As usual, the emulator comes in two flavors, an a-version for the Symbian 6.1 based phones Nokia 3650, Nokia 7650 and Nokia N-Gage (QD) and a b-version for the Symbian 7.0 based phone Nokia 6600.

Almost exactly one year ago, we celebrated the fact that our MSX forums contained a grand total of 5,000 forum posts. In the months that followed more and more people started to join the discussions, breaking the 10,000 forum posts barrier in October 2003.

After Sony Corporation a second big Japanese Company enters the MSX in the Media Challenge by mentioning MSX on their website: Yamaha. Yamaha played an important role in the history of MSX, developing the V9938 and V9958 VDPs, the MSX-Audio (Y8950) and the MSX-MUSIC (YM2413, OPLL).

Due to several circumstances it took quite a while before we could announce it on the frontpage, but MSX Resource Center is proud to announce that Frank H.

Last week we reported about the Retro PC Game Music website on which an archive of more than 4000 game songs are hosted. These songs can all be requested to be broadcast on the streaming radio station.

Olivier Hustin has just released a special alpha-version of his Vscreen platform game engine. New features in this version:

  • New intelligent (somewhat) enemies available which can move around independently in a level. Stop and turn back when they hit a wall, stop or jump down when they reach a cliff.

It was a very close call, but after the Best MSX1 game ever, the Best MSX2 game ever and the Most underrated MSX game megapolls we decided the 6 winners of those polls had to compete on a frontpage poll to sort out which MSX game is the very best

In the late nineties the first part of Umax's massive RPG Realms of Adventure was released. Right from the start it was the intention to release new parts of the RPG periodically, but unfortunately the second part of Realms of Adventure was never finished.
