PocketMSX 0.1b
A new version of PocketMSX, an MSX emulator for PocketPCs has been released yesterday. Although we weren't able to find a what's new, it has been a while since we reported about this emulator which comes in a MIPS and ARM version.
The popular MSX IRC channel #msxdev has moved to the Rizon network. IRC is a great way to meet people from all over the world and chat about MSX with them.
After having announced a temporary move earlier, ongoing problems have forced the #msxdev management to make the move permanent.
Over the months, we have kept you updated on the MSX Non BASIC Input Output System, in short MNBIOS, a new OS for the MSX2. This new OS increases the capabilities of the MSX2 hardware without the need of directly addressing the hardware.
KdL sent us some news about this website about the MSX-Developer Network project. By releasing bulletins periodically, KdL hopes to contribute to increasing the activity of MSX Developers. So far, the bulletins are available in Italian and French.
CP/M Player 2.2
Today, Takeda Toshiya released an CP/M emulator for Windows capable of running CP/M .com files. To accomplish this, Z80 emulation is included as well. As you probably know, MSX is capable of running CP/M programs, like the PMARC/PMEXT compression suite. Using this emulator, it is possible to use this software on PC as well.
Marcel Delorme released a new version of his GFX9000 library. The changes in this version:
- Bitbust compressor for G9B files (PC program)
- G9B load routines can use bitbust for decompressing
- Added condidional assembly to disable parts of the library
- Converted equ's to sjasm structs
The Japanese retro computer game webshop Project EGG started selling Nyan Puzzle (Nyanpi), a game that was included in Compile's Discstation DX-3.
