The Darkness of God Destroy website was updated today, adding an Oss 2004 'live'-report and a photoshoot of the fair which was held yesterday. In addition, a photoshoot of the Bussum 2003 fair was added as well.
ASCII have released a bit more information on the design of the MSX Game Reader, namely a 3D model of its design. The Game Reader is modelled like a tiny computer, with a design which looks a lot like the Panasonic FS-A1-xx series (like the turboR).
MSX Assembly Page update
The MSX Assembly Page, resource for MSX Assembly programmers (but also other languages) received a small update. The screen 8 palette file was replaced with one with the 'proper' colours for Blue. Also a little explanation why was written in the VDP programming guide article. This one would actually be quite important to know about for everyone doing graphics conversions to screen 8.
GFX9000 library 0.002
Marcel Delorme has released a new version of his GFX9000 library. This library consists out of a collection useful routines for the GFX9000 video card, which can be used by coders in other products.
MSX Posse are the first to bring some on-line pictures of the International MSX Fair in Oss, which was held today. If you want to have an impression of the fair, have a look at their photoshoot.
openMSX 0.3.4
It will be showed at the Oss fair tomorrow, but you can already download the new version of openMSX right now.
The main new feature is video scaling, which scales the low-res MSX screen to a high-res PC screen taking edges into account. No more blocky pixels! The following algorithms are available: Scale2x, 2xSaI and hq2x.
blueMSX 1.1.0
A new version of blueMSX is released. This version has an updated user interface and a lot of nice new features. Here are some of them:
- Support for ASCII8 and ASCII16 mega roms with SRAM.
- Support for SCC+ mega rom with internal RAM.
- Support for soft reset.
After the spectacular release of Ys 6 - The Ark of Napishtim, Falcom has announced the release of the sixth part in the Legend of Heroes saga for the spring of 2004. The first part of this series, very well known to most MSX users, was also known as 'Dragon Slayer 6'.
