Three days ago MSX Radio started broadcasting the nominated MSX-MUSIC songs which will run a competition for the Best MSX-MUSIC Game song ever. This allowed us to finally continue our quest for the best MSX game song ever.

There's a new version of the SjASM z80 crossassembler. New in this version is:

  • No space needed between label and = in statements.
  • The export directive now exports 'label: EQU value'.
  • and some minor bug fixes.

A few weeks ago Chris Martin, a Texas Instruments engineer succeeded in creating an ethernet interface for Atari 8-bit computers, as other hobbyists had already done for Commodore 64.

Thanks to the uprising of the mobile gaming industry, Taito is enjoying a revival thanks to the popularity of its old games. Accoording to Taito in the Financial times, the Japanese mobile gaming market is astimated $180 million.

Remember Puyo Puyo, the instant classic from Compile? Game maker John Stiles remade this game for PC and Mac. This time a mad scientist created genetically mutated candy in his candy factory. Unfortunately the living candy immediately began to multiply by the thousands. A free demo can be downloaded from www.candycrisis.com.

MSX-Reloaded is a new website dedicated to MSX maintained by 16 year old MSX-assembly coder Scarr. On his website you can find information on his activities on MSX, a message board, scans from magazines and links to other websites. In the future there will be downloads and screenshots of his productions as well.

We added a link to www.mellema.net. This is the page of Jetze Mellema, a dutch MSX user and collector of MSX and other homecomputers. Pictures of his collection and Russian MSX computers with network interface can be found here.
