Hello,

I just watched Tron Legacy at the movie theather and wondered, was Tron ever released for the MSX home computer system? I searched the forum the only referece being Lazer Bykes, mirroring the lightcycle competition. Generation MSX does not list any 'tron' string and some googling provided Mesxes SD#15 reporting about Traposoft working on Speedline, of which little seems to be known - their website is offline. So, any match closer?

Not that I know of, but you never know what might appear in the MSXDev contest Smile

That was it! I tried to remember that diagonally scrolling spectrum port.

I have some feeling that MSX had another Tron like Spectrum port, but I am not sure, maybe I am remembering that Zona 0.

Also I am not sure if Drome or some other Bytebusters/Aackosoft game had Tron like sub-game?

Lazer Bykes is the only one Tron like game I have played/own on MSX. Smile

Spectrum and Commodore 64 have several traditional type (read: simple and playableSmile) Tron clones naturally.

I think I have seen some MSX´s traditional Tron game screenshot(s) somewhere during years.

Yes, that's right:

Thanks all for your replies. Let's see if someone else pops up with something new too.

@tcruiste: Well, that'd be amazing! Smile I do keep an eye on the contest.
@Imanok: Great! BTW, it is fairly obvious that the MSX videogame is a straight port from Spectrum by having a look at the screenshots:

@Mäsäki: Yes, you're just right! http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/3012 Wataru's comment is clear enough.

The tittle, "TRONer and adventure inside Turbo R" you never saw what happened inside of this computer, some MSX user has conected his laser to the interface with Turbo R and somehow the laser dematerialice him inside of his computer, he has to scape of the game grid and play some deadly games before get out of the misterious R800 CPU, there is a virus inside and making the things worst!!!

A game for MSX2 with Screen4 graphics simulating perspective walls can be very fast Smile in some parts can be beautiful pictures on screen8 Smile
Imagine the disc, lightcicle and tanks games Smile

I will like to do Smile maybe if I find some coder that it offers to code the game I will make all the graphics Smile

Paulbrk, I just wish my coding abilities went beyond print "helllo" and few more instructions in MSX-BASIC Tongue

Derevo, on Karoshi forums there are assembler tutorials, maibe you like to learn something and in some mounts we can make the game. You know, here you can expose parts of the code and people will help you to complette the code Smile
