The 1.4.8 update is ready, here's a summary of what's new:

* Support for loading a Sunrise IDE controller
* When using the Load Game menu, disks 1 meg or larger are treated as hard disks automatically
* The Reset command does a full hard reset, fixing issues with Metal Gear 2
* Other minor bugfixes
* Android: On-screen controls auto-hide when the Xperia Play gamepad slides out
* iOS: Fixed Classic Controller analog stick support
* iOS: Relocated config files to /User/Documents/explusalpha.com/ to prevent the iBooks jailbreak fix from removing them

About IDE support, note that you'll need SUNRISEIDE.rom in your Shared Roms directory if you don't already have it. I was only able to find a handful of disk images so the code is not extensively tested but appears to work well so far. There are some slight differences to how MSX.emu handles the disk images compared to BlueMSX: a disk only has to be 1meg or larger to be treated as a hard disk, and disks are ejected along with removing the Sunrise IDE Controller. Here's what your ROM/Disk Control screen should look like after loading a valid image via the Load Game menu (the IDE controller
is inserted automatically):

I found just 2 small things:

1.) When I start MSX.emu and I select a different machine type like a default MSX2 (with all the ROM files in shared roms) this is'nt saved at exit, giving me a C-Bios machine every time I restart the MSX.emu application.

2.) In the market, the image with the version number is'nt updated LOL!

But I have to say, nice work on the IDE en diskmapping.
Looking forward to future updates.

I'm able to save the machine type option ok here. Remember that loading a save state (including the auto saves) will set the machine type to whatever that game was first run as. If you want to run a game with a different machine, make sure auto-save states are off and then launch it from the Load Game menu. Performing a reset currently does not load a new machine type but I might make an option to control this in the future.

Haha, that's actually just the promotional icon and the app version should be listed somewhere on its page depending on what version of the Market app your device has. On my Xoom for example, I see the high-res square icon in that spot.

Anyone having issues on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)? I'm going to release the next update very soon (1.4.9, Android-only) which features completely re-written event and input handling code using the newer Gingerbread APIs to hopefully iron out any issues. I'm also going to try out the multiple-APK feature of the Market so the app still runs for people on older Android versions. Hopefully nothing will go haywire Smile

Even though this just a device compatibilty update, I managed to slip in some prelimiary embedded ROM DB code so ROMs failing auto-detection should now work.

Version 1.4.14 is rolling out soon for Android, iOS, and WebOS. You can now use Coleco machine files from BlueMSX and run ColecoVision roms. I recommend everyone who re-configured their keys to reset to defaults as some config data has changed. There are now 2 keyboard defaults, one for games (maps the joystick, similar to previous versions) and a new one for typing which tries to map the keys as they would appear on a real keyboard so you don't have to manully set this up anymore.

Summary of changes:
* ColecoVision support
* Improved menu navigation and categorized options
* Additional key input defaults
* Fixed volume key and key repeat handling on Android 2.3+
* App shows up in Xperia Play games launcher
* Partial support for the new Wii Remote Plus controllers on Android
* Other various bug fixes

I use a cheaper 8" android tablet (Cortex A8 based); MSX.Emu works great on it, but the onscreen control overlay has "corrupt graphics"; grey blocks are displayed where the pad overlay should be.

I usually turn them off since I use a physical keyboard so it doesn't bug me too much, but I thought I'd mention it. If it's handy, I can provide a screenshot.

I know I'm "necroposting" here, but I have a question for the author: is it possible to launch a ROM directly from terminal?

I'm trying:

am start -n com.explusalpha.MsxEmu/com.imagine.BaseActivity -eu Uri "file://./mnt/usbhost4/ROMS/MSX/knightmare.rom"

But the emulator only appears and stays in the file-browser screen. Am I missing something?
Also, I can configure my xbox360 gamepad to in the menus, but it doesn't work in the games...
