It was a week that started with a sense of euphoria, following our successful Event Eleven. Later that week, bad weather followed in our forum that was all about not respecting the wishes of contemporary MSX game developers. Unfortunately, that thread has resulted in some considerable damage. If anything, this week shows once more that we're a scene made out of people using machines, not emotionless machines using machines. Apart from people venting their frustrations over the flame that ignited the turmoil, Vampier has withdrawn his entry for MSXdev'11 today, frustrated about how MSX game developers are treated by some MSX members. His game can now be downloaded from our freeware downloads section, with assembly source code included for educational purposes.
Meanwhile, Fernando García has kindly donated €30 to the main prize of MSXdev'11, which now totals up to €110. With somewhat over three months left, there is one finished entry (Robots, by Michel d’Alger) and eight entries which are under construction. Like earlier editions, perhaps not all games have been registered yet, so there's no telling how many games this edition will bring eventually.
