Good one! VG 8010/00: SF01450115891 we know that the VG8000 and VG8010 were made in France. So perhaps SF01 is the French factory. Any more people with such machines?

I have one: VG 8010/00: SF01 452 125689

SF is definitely for the French Factory where they were built (in Le Mans I believe). VG5000 manufactured in that same factory around the same time also started with the SFxxxx Letters.

@magoo

Allright, didn't know that. But had these machines there memory in slot 3, like in the Philips MSX2 models. I know I've once used one which needed the famous -1,170 poke to be able to run software...

Come to think of it: I don't know if dutch models needed that poke... Never used one.

I was always told that the number behind the slash on the Philips MSX refered to the keyboard version.

/00 : International QWERTY
/19 : French AZERTY

The VG 8020/20 needed that poke as it indeed has memory in an expanded slot.

I always thought the /00 /19 /20 were just revisions of the hardware.

Well, you could both be right because they're still hardware revisions...
The numbers behind the slash do matter a lot with the VG8235 though... Totally different internal design...
