Athletic Land
And a whole bunch of other games. It's easier to answer yes/no on a question "have you completed x?" than to list them.

WoW this really needs a brain squeezing, much easier for the people who has been adding their completion to their list Smile
I can start with the ones I have on my Youtube, but no it better to list them Big smile

I will get back once I have finished! or not! Tongue Joke Wink

Below is a list of MSX games that I finished in the 1980s/1990s on my original VG8235. I picked up playing emulator games in the past decade which I don't consider 'fair play' :-)

-Hydlide
-Metal Gear
-Maze of Galious
-Xanadu
-Ys III
-F1 Spirit
-Treasure of Usas
-Salamander
-Penguin Adventure
-Yie Ar King Fu 2
-Rune Master 3
-Fray

Of this list I am especially proud of finalizing Xanadu. I still cherish the original game that I have and consider it one of the most difficult games ever played.

Another one is Salamander. It simply came down to build up the weapons and don't 'die' because' you would start at a save point without all those accessoires, making it impossible to proceed.

Are you sure your VG8235 was original as several games you are mentioning are on double sided disks?

I ran through a small collection of DSK and ROM files and recognized a few of them as completed:

  • 3 Square
  • Aleste
  • Aleste 2
  • Aleste Gaiden
  • Circus Charly
  • Contra
  • Dead of the Brain (Japanese)
  • F-1 Spirit
  • Feedback
  • Firebird (Hinotori)
  • Fray
  • Golvellius 2
  • Gorby's Pipeline
  • Hyper Olympics 1
  • Hyper Olympics 2
  • Hyper Rally
  • Hyper Sports 1
  • Hyper Sports 2
  • King's Valley
  • King's Valley II
  • Magical Tree
  • Metal Gear
  • Metal Gear 2
  • Nemesis (Gradius)
  • Nosh
  • Not again!
  • Psycho World
  • Quarth
  • Road Fighter
  • Rambo
  • Runemaster
  • Runemaster 2
  • Runemaster 3
  • SD Snatcher
  • Space Manbow
  • Super Cooks
  • Teacher's Terror
  • Trojka
  • Troxx
  • Undeadline
  • Xak
  • Xak 2
  • Xak Gazzel
  • Yie ar Kung-Fu
  • Ys
  • Ys 2
  • Ys 3
  • Zanac Ex

I forgot a lot. Most of them are probably simple MSX1 games which loop after a few stages.
With Space Manbow I did finish every stage without cheating, but never in one run. Yes, I did use the Martos crack with the F4 button.

My dad once went down from Gelderland to Weert where a company changed it into double side... I still remember it vividly :-).... They advertised in Dutch MSX magazines.

Does anyone know who they were? I also obtained somewhere a memory upgrade to 512k. When I just looked it up, it's this one: https://www.msx.org/wiki/R.%26_J.Jansen_Memory_Mapper_256/512

So that was the company I was looking for?
