Hi,
many months without any news update or any photo.
Does "MSX 3" project still exist?

By

Alive and strong!

We decide to keep some information about the project in secret. Why? Some times, the "Excelent" is not friend of
"Good"! A boss told me it some day, and I keep it with me... and I took it to Team Tecnobytes.

If, for some reason, we decide to remove or add some specs, nobody will make a rain of emails to us... with congratulations or complains...

This is a project from us to the community. We are doing, because we want to do, it is like a dream for us.

At this moment, we need to work, and this is what we are doing!

What we can tell to you now?

Well, the motherboard will fit in a PC case and will have a onboard IDE interface...

More news? Sometime in this same channel ;-)

Big hug!

At least for me, that's always the biggest flaw of those attempts.
Even if I know there's a vintage machine inside, makes just a small difference of having an emulator running on a dedicated PC machine. The feeling is just too close.
For sure a matter of opinion, but I would try to make a mobo that could be fitted inside a vintage machine like a Sharp Hotbit.

You want a Sharp Hotbit, other one may want a Sony Hitbit, other one a Panasonic "WX" series... so... have no way to satisfy everyone, this was the reason we did not do a search before start the project... We know the community enought to know your desires, but we can't meet all... This is simply impossible, for many reasons...

We really would like to make a new original case, but in small scale, it is too much expensive.

Big hug.

Do you already know the form factor you will use for the motherboard (ITX, Mini ITX...) ?

Yes guys, you're alright.
What about the specs of your MSX3 ?
To work, To be as retrocompatible as possible, To be as cheap as possible (maybe a "naked version" without case and other stuff?)
Nothing more is necessary.

Good work from Giuseve !!!

Indeed, Orbit is still alive and kicking Hannibal
The only problem is that I informed you all at the beginning of the project. Such a project will take a lot of (hobby) time to complete, this can give the idea that the project has been canceled or abandoned, but none of this it true.
The project is still alive and an update will be placed on my website very soon.

But besides that, it's always nice to see that some more people are busy in making/designing more MSX hardware Wink

Hi guys!

We have only to thank all support from the community.

Someone did ask: "Why make it from scratch?"

Because we are crazy! :-D

The work is hard, but so much rewarding!

We will talk about specs when each one of them was confirmed on the project. Of course, we will let somethings to the "Day D" ;-)

@Magoo: We will try to let the board with the minimun size. But, only when the final desing is ready we will can confirm that.

We know that all of you want more informations, but one more time, we ask patience.

Big hug!
