I think this explain why he choose the Amstrad as the first supported platform:

I'm using #openMSX (MSX emulator) connected with an ARM Cortex M4 simulator( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEIdZhM_kcA) to develop software on my @MSXARM hardware device. I think it's an efficient way to develop software & hardware even for modern eletronics devices!

+Rogerio Machado when I worked at Adventure International we used to develop on a TRS80 (at the time a big expensive high powered beast with disks) and then download the image to the spectrum for testing with the TRS80 bitbanging a cable plugged into the tape input of the spectrum.

TRS80 wasn't alas fast enough to do simulation runs but it could also run the gamecode the interpreter ran, so you only had to do the final work on the real box.

Did concentrate your mind on bug fixing when you had to wait 6 minutes to test each change you made.

What do you need for Fuzix beside textoutput?

Yeh. Unix command line on text mode is more powerful because you can do lot with them, you can tell your computer exactly what you want and get the appropriate answer. I love Unix because of all the wonderful things that I can do on the command line. But SYMBOS is a powerful graphical(and OS) environment too. It would be nice be able to open an image on SYMBOS from an UNIX bash shell running on graphical mode! (http://www.cygwin.com/ Get that Linux feeling on Windows)

Just open SymShell, go to an image directory and type the filename of an image -> it will be loaded and displayed Tongue

@geijoenr keep up the good work! +1 for MegaFlashRom. What development environment are you using by the way (platform, compiler, IDE)?

Maybe it's the nerd in me but this developing story is so cool Smile

@user888 just check the gihub project, how to build is documented there. I think you can only use Linux or Mac.
but be warned that working on this is not easy, you need some background in unix and how machiones and compilers work.
