Hello,

I'm trying to load Sir Fred on BlueMSX. I downloaded it from:

Sir Fred from MSX Archive

Its a .lzh file so I decompressed it into a new folder.

On BlueMSX I power up then go to File > Disk Drive A > Insert Directory and point to the appropriate Folder.

I then type RUN "SIR-FRED.BAS"

The screen says Sir Fred is loading, and I want 15-20 minutes and nothing happens.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks

Peter

PS - Will BlueMSX ever be updated?

Some tips can be found in the blueMSX manual.

For some reason, this game does not work on MSX2+ and turboR. You can only run it on MSX1 and MSX2, but you need to press LeftCtrl when you boot the emulated machine with the DSK or the directory of the game in drive A.

No any update of the emulator is planned.

Sorry, still not working.

I hold down the LeftCtrl when I power up with the directory loaded. I still need to type RUN 'SIR-FRED.BAS"

Then just get the loading screen again.

Anyone assist? Thanks very much

Don't run MSX2+ or turboR.

You must keep LeftCtrl pressed down until the end of the boot sequence.

If you want an autoexecutable DSK, check the TOSEC package or create yourself a DSK file with DiskManager, put the files on the DSK, save the DSK file, close DiskManager, then run blueMSX and when you are on the blue BASIC screen, create and save the AUTOEXEC.BAS file.

Sorted. I had LeftCtrl pressed when I switched on. I read another article which said only press when the blue MSX screen (MSX2) screen appeared.

It then worked.

Does anyone know if there is an English Language version?

THanks
