Hi, got a philips nms8280 and a megaflashrom sd scc+ 512k ram
Tested a lot of game roms and work great Big smile.
But the metal gear 2 rom don't work i downloaded it from a bunch of sites and just a blue screen theres a way to get it working?.
I like to hear music and play songs there's a music player ? that can use the psg or the scc i see one call mpx play on youtube but unable to find a download for it.
Also where i can find music files ?.
There a way to play music from nextor ?.
When i power on the msx using the cart i got a 128k ram and 128k vram on screen but the cart says 512k ram this is normal ?.

Thanks Smile

opfxsd mg2.rom /u will solve your metal gear 2 problem
Your computer doesn't show your ram when you turn it on. It shows hard coded text.

In case you do not want to use /U for whatever reason (like in a multirom retaining the ability to press ESC to return to BASIC / DOS), there is also an alternative which fill fix that issue =)

You are speaking about the slot detection issue of Metal Gear 2. Another problem is the English re-translation of Metal Gear 1. Current version (1.9) does not work on non-Japanese/Korean computers.

In case of Metal Gear 1, there's also another alternative: just use one of the pre-1.9 patches, you can find them here. Especially useful if you dislike the fonts used in version 1.9. and no need to fix the localisation feature with a second IPS patch!

The English patches of Metal Gear 1 need to be applied on a good dump of the original Japanese rom (not on the official European rom).

If you use the pre-1.9 patches, the resulting rom will work on all MSX2 (and higher) machines.

If you use the 1.9 patch (the only one available on BiFi IPS website), the resulting rom will work only on Japanese/Korean machines, just like the original Japanese rom. But you can find another IPS fixing patch on BiFi website to resolve this issue.

That's the only one case of localisation frontier in the MSX universe. The absurdity lies actually in the fact that the 1.9 patch does not fix this limitation, while it was fixed in the pre-1.9 patches.
