Tried now with SET EXPERT=ON, and that got rid of the "wrong version of MSXDOS" error, but still hangs and black/white.
SymbOS currently hangs on the MSX for a special duration, when there is no IDE present. But after a while the IDE detection should timeout and you should be able at least to move the mouse and open the Start->Run dialogue. If not, there is another problem (does the clock work?).
You can start the file from any partition or disc drive, as I use MSXDOS for the complete loading process. Only SymbOS itself requires the Sunrise IDE in slot 1 with a HD in the master channel + partition 4.
Uh, I see, I need to hurry up with the FDC support!...
I also should hurry up with an automatic partition detection.
Btw, is there a way to lock the mouse so its not turning into a pc mouse when its going outside the emulator window?
In blueMSX : LShift + F8
In openMSX : I don't know ... maybe Manuel ?
I just asked Bifi for openmsx. There you type "toggle grabinput" in the console. Don't think it's bound to a key.
Now it worked.. in z80 mode. Timing issue? Btw, I have a 32MHz xtal in my MSX. No 28MHz.
I tested again, what happens without IDE drive: After the desktop appears, the system is very slow for about 1 minute. After 1 or 1,5 minute, the detection times out and you can play around normally with the mouse and the run dialogue. This crazy long timeout seems to be an issue that comes with the CPC origin, so I have to have a look on it.
Now I can move the cursor, but it always tries to move an icon. Same with or without mouse. I try to open the start menu, and it just keeps blinking..
32MHz?? Xtal?? I just know R800 and 7,16MHz %-)
So button 1 is always pressed... Hm, what's this again...
What happens in openMSX is strange : on the commandline, if I use CD, I can see the contents of the subdirectory but after launching of SymbOS, I still get the error mentioned by manuel if I click on an icon or use the browser for example.
