Hello,
i'm Edwin from the Netherlands. A couple of weeks ago i dusted of my three MSX computers and started using them again.
The models i have are:
Sony F700P - not modified
Philips NMS8280 - not modified
Yamaha CX5MII - not modified.
I want to use Sony for programming in the C language and sometimes to play a game.
On the internet i bought a Fun-rice PACK, a ide controller with 4GB CF card.
After putting the card in the Sony HitBit and turning the power on it boots like normal. After booting suddenly a character appears after the prompt and then te Sony reboots. It also states sometimes : "System error 96" It boots again and after booting it does not take long and it will reboot again. Even after a day of power off, so no remaining data in memory the same hing happens.
I tried the card also on my Philips MSX2 computer and the same thing happens. I cannot use it with my MSX2 machines.
Only in my MSX1 it seems to function right. But i want to use it on the MSX Sony machine. Has someone experienced this strange behavior on such a IDE card? Maybe the electronics are not functioning well but i don't want to open the cartridge. Or maybe i am doing something wrong?
regards,
Edwin
