There's also the password system, so you won't need a disk drive per se. It saves you typing a rediculous long sequence of letters and digits though Wink
An english version is always fake Wink

Meits is right, better you download the english rom file somewhere and buy a Megaflashrom+SCC minimal to put it on and have fun playing Wink in the past some played the japanese version with a translated transcript printed, that doesn't sound like fun Wink

When it came out there was no help at all. Just try stuff and see what happens.
Walfthroughs for Japanese games were hillarious (if you look back at it with the translated version in your computer now).

Anyone remember this random line?
"Go back to the second village" (has a name now) "and talk to everybody" (yes, since we didn't know who exactly said the thing that changed things).

But even without a walkthrough Solid Snake is very playable. Especially if you're not new to the series and if you played the PS1 version (mgs1), you practically played a remake. Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

Thanks to my experience playing the japanese version of MG2 in the early 90s, I was able to beat the first japanese MG on the Playstation. Nobody believed me.
A lot of trial and error was what we´d done that time. Didn´t progress? Try "talk to everyone"!

nikodr I sent you a pm on your email!

I have a translated version in digital form on a ps3 metal gear collection! But as you can see,the feeling is different owning the physical and original one...I know this will cost me a big amount of money, but as a metal gear fan i'll give it a try.
I hope i can find a european MSX in as good as possible condition!I searched on ebay but found nothing on msx2 and european.

I'm sure there's someone willing to sell you one of their MSXes if you ask this forum in the trading section. You'll evade the rediculous ebay prices that way as well...

True. But having played the original, there are quite a few places in the game where you have a long back-and-forth conversation, or a crucial bit of info gets handed to you... and as a non-Japanese, you don't have a clue what. Question

Even if you can find your way wandering around in the dark, I still prefer to see what's going on...

There is not one word I disagree with Smile

Before the game was translated by MTH and (man I forgot the others) to a disk version it only got a chance of being played because of its name and maker. There are some other great Japanese titles for sure. But I never got to play them and I never will because they never got to be translated. Metal Gear, SD Snatcher, Xak and Ys are the exception, and I know that goes for a lot of people Smile
Having it translated gave it a lot more gaming pleasure. All hail to Oasis Smile
