I interview the guy behind this, and damn do I hate the name! You cannot search for it at all!

Some older topics:

Simple question: was it ever fan-translated? Because the ending has pure English text, but the intro is Japanese text. Ending seen here:
http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/msx2/a/dixdaef.htm

It seemed off to me that they'd put the intro in Japanese, but the ending in English...?

Then again, Generation-MSX does not list a fan-translation:
http://www.generation-msx.nl/software/tecno-soft/d-dash/comm...

I'm about to start taking screenshots (I need about 3 or 4), but would prefer to play an English version if it exists.

Alternatively, if anyone happens to have a bunch of MSX2 screens and is happy to give them to me, you will have my eternal gratitude and your name in my book.

The ending of this game is in Japanese as well.
The pictures of game endings at the Video Game Museum are always presented in English. Even if the original was in untranslated Japanese, they'll make good looking mockups of the text's translation using that game's native Western font.

You interviewed Sotoyama Yuuichi? Looking forward to it!

Recently I was pointed to an interview with him and his colleague Yokoo Kenichi, focusing on the time they created arcade shmups with their company Raizing, which was a nice read! So I’m looking forward to reading some reflections about his period in Tecno Soft (and maybe Compile)!

p.s. In your search, did you find this thread? :)

I think its location would be more south on the map.

diːdæʃ is the way you pronounce the name (phonetic transcription). As is D-dash but you probably shouldn't write it like that. It's just D'.

If you see that ending you probably know what D' is. So probably no need for spoilers. The game is quite nice; it reminded me of metal gear in a way.

The script is translated, but there is no translation afaik.

Wouldn't that be more like "D-apostrophe" though, and D-dash would be written as "D/"? Smile

Anyway, if the script is translated, I hope it will be implemented some day. It's indeed a pretty nice game.

Agree! D' should be "D apostrophe" or "D quote". "D-dash" should be "D-" ("D/" would be "D slash" Smile )

Good correction. Smile Indeed, I mixed up the dash and the slash.

D' could also be "D Prime." But "D-Dash" sounds way cooler, even if it is semantically inaccurate. Wink

I need to check this game out. Just found out it existed (from the topic creator, actually!), and it looks really cool!
