MSX easier to emulate than C64?

But even if I think the c64 has both better video and audio than MSX1, there is something special with the MSX.

And exactly the samen goes for Amiga vs. MSX2(+). MSX has the architecture of a real, serious computersystem(albeit only 8-bit), while the Amiga architecture has always been a (16 bit) games-machine architecture. A very powerful system for its time, essentially a predecessor of the PSX maybe, where MSX could be considered a predecessor of modern all-purpose personal computers.

Or else, please explain me why all games use 4x4 pixel blocks to draw ?
@Bart: I think your neighbors had a vic20 Wink

After checking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVPW40ygds4, I must admit I don't rember their games being anything like this :D Mmmz, so I might have pooped on C64 based on Vic20 impressions for like... eh over 20 years? w00t, that's bizarre :D :D :D

On the audio the c64 beats the crap out of an MSX1 (except my CX5M) The SID is so much better than the PSG so its no point of even comparing the two. The C64 graphics is also better than than the MSX1 imo. I'm not sure what applications you were running on the c64 but quite a few games that have really good graphics, like international cartate which I liked a lot. The problem with c64 is that the processor is rather slow, so its hard to use the more fancy screen modes to something more useful than just still images but later games make use of it pretty well. One thing that I like with the c64 graphics is that you don't have the two color per 8 pixel limitation. Another quite sad limitation of the MSX1 is the absence of a configurable palette. This really puts a limitation on what type of gfx you can do.

dvik, also the c64 had fixed palette.

Yeah I vaguely remember that. I haven't done any c64 coding in over 20 years. But as wolf_ said, the palette isn't as clear as the MSX palette which makes it better at least for some type of games.

Talking about C64:
I was just having a glance at some pictures on the net and I found something I don't like to see...

http://www.msxposse.com/site/gallery/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=40

I don't know how to understand this picture, still it looks like someone hammering a C64 at an MSX fair!! :( :(
I just hope that I am misunderstanding and that there is a good explanation for this. C64 is nothing special to me but it certainly is for some other people that should be respected.
I don't want to be polemic but I hope this machine has not been voluntarily destroyed in some kind of 'anti-C64 ritual'... Ok, this is just a machine, just like a hammered MSX would be, still it would simply be a real shame! :o I am sure a majority of people in this community would disapprove such an act.
Still, this picture is on a public site, there should be at least an explanation that goes along with it... or some appology to the C64 community.

I have to agree with sinus. That dude on the picture is a big fat asshole. I guess the poor c64 was not working to start with but still...

EDIT: I don't know who that guy on the picture is so I can't really say that it is an a-hole, but at least the action is one that big fat a-holes would do.

The C=64 was (afaik) not working indeed.

This is a physical re-enactment of the 'traditional' C=64 bashing as seen in several MSX demos in the 1990's.
