Perhaps we should give away an MSX1 as the main prize in that one ^______________^

@JJ: You're kind of missing the point. The problem is not the word 'fuck', 'shit', or 'commodore' being used. The problem is when people are no longer friendly to each other. You can be unfriendly in a variety of ways, which doesn't have to include the use of explicit words. Just try to get your point across in a friendly way, and you'll find you're able to speak are freely here as you would in real life. Because just like in real life, people don't get upset if you say 'fuck', they get upset if you're not nice...

Hmmm ... link fuck and shit with commodore are bad words and unfriendly for commodore users ... You know?

This is your theorical "respect"?

Please, answer this.

Actually, it was an attempted joke. And commodore users should be wise enough not to visit this place... We know better than to visit their lair... :P

Oh, and notice I said nothing about commodore users. I just implied the name of their machine is a swear word... which, well, it is... Tongue

@ARTRAG: I don't think SM2 has been going on since 2k4 tho... I did the bulk of SD-Snatcher2 in a month. Had there been graphics *rolleyes* I suspect the game would be just about done by now. A proper MSX2 game can be done in about a year, assuming weekend coding. Of course the type of game matters a bit too, SD-Snatcher happens to be a very easy game to program...

I don't like the term "amateur", because it has some negative meaning. It sounds like "it is not that bad if you consider that it is an amateur project". In a non-commercial community, like MSX is nowadays (for most of us ) I think that we should use the term "homebrew", "hobbyst", etc. Amateur is not the right tag - several groups have produced real jewels!
I agree. Some games made in MSXDev are really in the top 10% of games ever made for MSX1. When it comes to MSX knowledge I wouldn't call the developers amateurs. I think the term 'non-commercial' is the best. homebrew and hobbyist sound quite negative too.

Well, amateur just means unpaid. It doesn't mean 'no good'. Just as professional doesn't mean it's any good, just look at the M$ products bearing that stamp! Tongue (Oh oh, now I've offended yet another group of people!)

I get the point : IE is more amateur than Firefox .... but I use here "amateur" with a very bad meaning Tongue

And Firefox is more professionnal than IE without being commercial ! With the Adblock and NoScript extensions, I can eradicate all the publicity on the Net !!! LOL!
