It's a pretty cool game, look at these animations! Made me think of Draconic Throne!
I guess the large animation stuff made it to get not ported to MSX...

There so so so many non-MSX 8-bits game concepts (and even Amiga or PCx86) that could be ported to MSX....
Or even MSX1 concepts that could be revamped and made in MSX2, 2+, T-R....
I never understood the obsession to make clones of the classics.
Just thinking a while and the list is something...
Desolator (Gremlin) --> MSX2+
Sensible Soccer (Sensible Soft) --> MSX2+
Double Dribble (Konami) --> MSX2 or GFX9000
Paris-Dakar (Zigurat) --> MSX2, 2+ optional
Cannon Fodder --> MSX2+
Star Control --> MSX2, optional 2+
Airborne Ranger, Pirates, Sim City, Rampage (GFX9000), and so many others...

Yeah! Thanatos was really cool! When I saw Draconic Throne, that's the first game that came to my mind! We used to play Thanatos a lot in the Amstrad CPC of a friend!!

Is this giving anyone new ideas for the MSXDev? (I already kind of set my mind on one idea, so, not taking on any of these, but a Cannon Fodder-like sounds like it could be very cool!)

I played CPC version too, and loved this game. Really impressive and very fun to play.

Honestly I had not known the name of Thanatos, till somebody showed it here with talking about my Draconic Throne. I wonder the name is not so famous in Japan. Spectrum nor Amstrad is not either among ordinary Japanese people. Anyway, an MSX port of Thanatos exists?
