What about SPACE BUSTERS, the Space Invaders budget clone? Love that game, with the music by PINO. Who was PINO by the way?

For some reason I like Disc Warrior by alligata: http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/560
Its definately not a fancy looking game and not very smooth either but I still like it for some reason.

I kind of liked Illegus (or Iriegas or whatever they call it here in the west Smile).
I was quite impressed by how smoothly it presented a 3D maze (although with blocky SCREEN 3 graphics), day/night cycles, upgrades, shooting baddies, jumping, all in smooth 3D and crammed in just 16KB.
Granted, gameplay is a bit flawed (problematic collision detection with shooting, food was too sparse in the mazes etc), but it did get me hooked and impressed about the technical achievements for a while.

Great game!, IIRC was my VERY FIRST finished game; as dvik, I liked for some strange reason and play it for hours till find the computer room. the game is confusing at first with so much monochrome sprites and your discs flying around; but when you get into it's really addictive. Thinking now I believe that the most interesting thing of the game is its pseudo 3D perspective that allows the player to walk over the walls and even rest till your energy recovers... I liked so much to jump along the walls! :D

Disc Warrior is indeed very addictive. I'm not sure why, but maybe it is the 3D engine that makes it feel like a 'real' world or maybe its the futuristic story. I'm not aware of any other 3D games for MSX where you actually can move in three dimensions. There are of course many other games with 3D perspective but they all tend to be 2D games. Anyone know of any games similar to Disc Warrior?

I remember the very first game i played. It was Fire Hawk in cassette, by Players.

Game has some bugs. Really annoying sound FX. At normal speed game is REALLY hard to play, so i used to put a small glass ashtray over 'P' key to make game much slower xD. After this, some other games like Chiller (http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/2730) and Knight Ghost (http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/2213) came. Those really caught my attention.

Atually, 'P' key was pause in that game but, due to lack of use of INTs, if you hold 'P' key, the game pauses/unpauses so the game becomes slower!

Yes, this could be the ver first cheat device and my first hardware too Tongue
