too bad huh.. windows
its a pity i cant play any woomb games..
My bet:
Windows + MSXPlayer + Golvellius [w00mb] + debugger + some patience = Golvellius [MSX]
"I have Golvellius 2 in English from Woomb but still haven't played it (I'll try to play the game during my Christmas holidays)."
Great, kinda far off though
"Does it means that the vgmuseum will start listing Windows games?"
Hehe, nah, I don't believe it will.
Not anytime soon at least.
"Does this mean that the vgmuseum can only post endings of which the pictures were taken from a real MSX?"
I wouldn't mind taking snaps from the real system as long as the screenshots are crystal clear, but since that is only obtainable by emulators (easily at least), I stick to emus.
Not only that, emus offer save sates to go back and fix whatever mistake one made.
"So, Golvellius 2 English (woomb) is a Windows game. "
It's an MSX2 game played through a windows application.
It's not like it was released for the windows platform or something, I think.
I wouldn't get mad either if someone privately sends over the MSX2 Golvellius for me to play and take the snapshots.
I'll still give the contributor the credit if he so desires and he can have my word (the little that means on the Internet) that the game will not spread or be found on someone else's hand.
I have no intention of keeping that game, I don't collect roms or even have a real MSX. My only desire is to get the last boss & game ending snapshots so there should be no worry about it.
I've been trusted numerous times with private releases weeks before they have been released to the public such as the NeoGeo King of Fighters 2003, Samurai Shodown 5, Metal Slug 5, GBA Metroid Fusion and Sonic Advance 3.
If you google kof2003 and vgmuseum you might find old forums posts accusing me of hoarding the rom haha. People knew the rom was privately kept but the only name they had was mine, thus the accusations.
Same thing happened with Sonic Advance 3.
Sorry for rambling, but I just had to ask 'cause it seems no one will be able to contribute the snapshots anytime soon
ReyVGM, do not ask for warez on the MRC, it's against our policies. Besides that, I find it absolutely outrageous to ask for copies of a game that has been released weeks ago. But maybe that's just because I'm involved...

Just to clarify, I completely agree with that - I was reacting to the statements that the Woomb release is a Windows game, which it is not. It's an MSX game, there are just some people here who will stick to their 20 year old piece of scrap no matter what and are scared of modern things like emulators.

Oh my... NO, it is NOT an MSX game as it is not intended to run on MSX systems. And that comment abut the emulators is nonsense, emus are great: but still that woomb game does not run on MSX emulators.
What is MSXPLAYer then? An operating system? No, it's an EMULATOR. What, not only that, it's an MSX emulator. It runs MSX games. Encryption doesn't make ANY difference to that.

Well, I think that it isn't a game that you can finish in 2 days (it's a RPG) and I have never played it before.

Again, that does not make it an MSX game.
Street Fighter Alpha for Windows: cps2 enhanced rom image bundled with an emulator: it is a Windows game.
Twinklestar Sprites for Dreamcast: neogeo rom image modified with more options, with an emulator. Is a Dreamcast game.
Sonic CD (Sonic Mega Collection) for GC: mega cd game enhanced with add ons, with an emulator. Is a Gamecube game.
etc, etc...
Those games only can be played into their 'original' systems when modified with reverse engineering or decrypted (cracking - illegal procedure).
So we all agree there are MSX games 'inside' woomb releases' code. But they are not MSX releases, and that's a fact: they are Windows releases. So it is dumb to list Golvellius (english-woomb) as an MSX2 game, when it is not.
