Changing stuff in the psu won't change anything about the jail bars. My 8250 is in a pc case with a pc psu. It just has jail bars like all other 8250 and up I've seen... I've consulted with a high tech hardware guru who owns some 8250s... Opposed to some other machines he has not heard of a jail bar fix for our philipses yet.
Until then, try to unsee it Wink

A little shake might be because of some electric device standing near the screen. Your other electric devices run at 50Hz AC. It might "radiate" its frequency which results that you see the difference of that radiation and you screen at 60Hz: a shake of 10Hz... Happens here all the time when I put one screen on 50Hz and the other on 60Hz. They need some more space, so check if there's anything near your screen you could shove away a bit or turn off.

Ouch.

Mine is literally sitting on the screen, bad move I guess.

I'll try moving it further to see if anything changes.

Still, a recap is always a good thing to do, especially since the PSU is easy to remove.

In theory the MSX could cause it as well, but I never saw that happen... Though I never had it on top of the monitor either so it wouldn't hurt giving it a try Wink

Off topic but since we are talking about placing stuff not to near other stuff. That cupboard seems awkwardly close to the door Cool

Tried 50/60hz but did not see any differences in the jailbars on the TV's i tested on, on both modes they look the same.
Tested on the Ancona (KG733/00b) monitor, still very good picture but the characters on screen look even more solid than before the replaced components. (too bad the monitos has an issue Sad )
But i noticed this, if you closely you can see the vertical stripes.
More zoomed in it looks like this.
Maybe its like Meis said the is nothing you can do about it and maybe its even wanted to get a pixel like image but 1080p tv's do automatic scaling and therefore more visible?
Also found my CM8533 monitor :) , same picture as the Ancona but has a vertical shake, no other devices near so i think thats an issue with the monito itself.
Looking at this i think it is wisely to stop and enjoy the machine as it is, ... ohw the curiosity, ... dont know yet :D

What you’re seeing on those zoomed-in pictures is the shadow mask. That’s normal, every colour CRT TV has that, it’s how it produces colours. If you connect another device you will see that too. They’re not the same as jailbars, like you see here (that fix for the turboR GT worked wonders btw).

Thanks for the info Grauw, forgot all about the shadow mask, that explains the image on the CRT monitors.
Here is mentioned that the bars are a VDP thing but the turbo R fix is just a clean Csync signal.
Wonder if thats even posible with the nms.

I'm eager to find out as well. Imho jailbars ruin the picture. If anyone ever finds out how to fix that on a 8250 and up I'd be happy to know, but as far as available info goes now there's no fix.

The jail bars in this clip on youtube looks the same as on the nms8280, fix seems the same a for the turbo R.
I wanted to "fix" my nms because i thought it needed repair but wanted to keep it as original as possible so i do not want to do internal modifictions that disable things.
Going to test asap if a sync cleaner/sripper can help to get a clean csync signal and find out if this does something about the jailbars.
