Hello,

There are converters, check for example here:

Just make sure it's AV2HDMI and not HDMI2AV, as they look very similar.
They are powered via USB, so you'll need something to power them (usually not included).
Rather than composite video, I’d recommend a SCART to HDMI converter for superior quality.

There are even better quality solutions like the OSSC too, and I absolutely love mine and the picture quality it gives me. But it’s expensive and works better with NTSC than it does with PAL, so it may not suit your wallet and needs at this time. Given the cost of a cheap Chinese converter from eBay it’s hardly a waste even if you later decide to upgrade to something better.
You can also try out this new device called RetroTink 2X SCART it is more plug and play like the Chinese converters but will give image quality similar (maybe even better) to OSSC (which is a beast that is sometimes difficult to tame).

I do not recommend any of the cheap AV to HDMI converters, I tried that exact model and the signal is really noisy.
I use this one:

And the video quality is extremely good and have had no issues so far, so I recommend it.

It seems to expand the image to 16:9 whilst MSX was not intended to run at 16:9 but 4:3 (not exactly either but you get my point). With the OSSC you can get 4:3 output of the MSX (even on a 16:9 screen, with black bars left and right). Which is what I prefer.

I prefer the exact opposite. Can the OSSC do that? Any experience on that? Full screen without the black bars I mean.
If you use a TV usually you can set the aspect ratio on the menu. I personally prefer full 16:9 as well, there is very little distortion and it doesn't bother me.
Switching aspect ratio on my LCD monitor is frustrating. Luckily the OSSC output changes depending on the line multiplication you choose. Here are 2 photos with respectively Line4x and Line5x:

This is 1920x1080 output on both and aspect ratio is 16:9 on the monitor.
I want to buy a "cheap" 24" tv with a scart connector.
I'm from The Netherlaands, are there people from NL who can give me some advise in what not and what to buy.
I have a Samsung T24C300 24" LCD TV for sale. I need to dust it off but otherwise it is in perfect condition, and via SCART it works fine with both my 60 Hz Panasonic FS-A1GT and my 50 Hz Yamaha CX5MII. It has SCART, HDMI, VGA, AV, component and antenna inputs. Available for pick-up only (I live in Utrecht). If you’re interested send me an offer at the email address on my profile page.
