Hello everyone. Some programs like Sofarun sorts de content of the SD, but other like Multimente show content of the drive in the order they were wrote in the SD. In MM you can [S]ort content and then [Y]Write sort to disk, I supossed that this do the work but doesn't work, when I shutdown de machine the order is lost again (I suposse that it writes in memory the order).
Until now I use a PC program called DriveSort that orders the content of the SD in alphabetical order, is there something similar in MSX? Thanks!
The write function in MultiMente only works on FAT12 volumes. There is also a defragmentation tool called IMPROVE which has an option to sort directory entries, however it too only works on FAT12.
I don’t know of any MSX sorting tool that supports FAT16, all the available options are for PC. See this thread: FAT16 directory sort. Personally, I usually just use the MultiMente sort option if I can’t find what I’m looking for.
Ok so the problem is FAT16. I'll do in the way you suggest, simply order with MM when I need to find something. In this topic SR is really useful because already order by default every folder, in MM you need to order each time you enter on it.
You can as well move all content to PC once in a while and then move back in any order you want. Yes, not so convenient, but if you think you are not going to change or add new files often, that is some solution too
