Is there documentation for DMK Creator? I was unsure if it was supposed to run on an MSX or Windows.

Just wondering what causes the doubt... Can you explain?

I just want to be sure that I'm doing it right. I want to be absolutely POSITIVE that I won't do the wrong thing and erase the disk, potentially losing the data of this game forever. Who knows if another will become available before all floppy disks die? I don't even know yet if this one works.

The other worry comes from the non-Panasonic MSX aspect. After owning three MSX computers with non-functional floppy drives, I finally spent way too much for a refurbished FS-A1GT, which is of course, a Panasonic model, so that won't work.

I do have one Sony MSX2 that I haven't tried yet but statistically speaking, I expect that the FDD on that is probably dead.

Asides from all of these concerns, I'd say that I'm far from an expert on doing command-line stuff on an MSX. I mostly put the game in and go, to be honest. I did some command line stuff a few years ago when I was using a 1chipMSX but I had trouble figuring that stuff out too, even with documentation. So if I just see an EXE file without instructions, I don't know if that's supposed to go on a PC or an MSX, and if it goes on an MSX, I don't know what to do with it.

Using write protection hole on the disk is always a good idea... I'm sure that the EXE-file is for PC, but the tool it self is for MSX. (On MSX only SymbOS uses EXE-files)

I guess I'll have to see if the FDD on this HB-700 works, but if not then I'll try MSX Floppy Disk Manager.

Another advantage to doing it on a PC would be that I wouldn't have to buy extra floppy disks. If I have to buy some disks to archive this game for the community, I absolutely will. I just hope I don't have to buy ANOTHER MSX. :/

Don't you have a mass storage device cartridge for your MSX?

Btw, I see that the zip file of DMK Creator just contains a disk image (DMK.DSK). That's containing the MSX program to run.

Yes, Just extract the file "dmk.com" from the disk image file "DMK.DSK".

Then save this file "dmk.com" to a MSX mass storage device, like carnívore2 or megaflashrom, and run it.

I have a Carnivore2 but I couldn't figure it out.

My HB-F900 does not have working floppy drives. I don't know anybody who can repair them either.

I'm trying, but I've already spent a lot of time on this and I'm not getting anywhere.

About ready to call it quits. This has just been an exercise in frustration. Hopefully the next person who buys the game is willing to go through all of this trouble, and hopefully the disk works.

What is the problem after starting the software?

I haven't tried to run the software. I never figured out how to use the Carnivore2. I tried for an hour or two back when I got it and got nowhere but frustrated with that either.

I also don't have working floppy drives on a Sony computer, so even if I could run the program, it wouldn't work.
