One of Pazos versions a little arranged.
WOW!!! The best!!!
Oh come on, it’s just a logo. It’s not even that bad imho, it will take some time to get used to like everything that changes. I like how it reflects the extensibility of MSX3.
Maybe some people don't care but a logo, color, or whatever are crucial elements otherwise companies wouldn't devote a lot of resources to those "minor" details. Changes are always welcome if they are linked to an improvement but that is not the case, it's just the opposite. Sorry to say but in my opinion the new design looks awful, it reminds me of those MSX logo fakes from crappy games or unknown magazines from the past. The original logo is gorgeous even decades later. Just add a 3 like the MSX2 logo font and that's all! How hard was it for Nishi to ask our opinion?
It may sound stupid but for me, it was hard to feel this new computer as a MSX already, with that new logo design even less. I'm sorry.
Not a fan of the thin letters either.
I agree with enribar, that edit looks pretty cool, prefer it over the original (by 'Marcelllado' btw), nice one! The '3' has a nice modern look to it. Makes me wonder about a version where the letters are more condensed as well (I'm not necessarily 'zealous' regarding 'must be keeping (exact) original MSX logo')
Did anyone ever do a variant with a more rounded 'M' btw?
All the logos of the big brands have evolved over time so in principle, it's not illogical that this is the case with the MSX3. Personally, I would have loved a logo like the one proposed by GDX: the old "MSX" logo with a modernized "3". It would have made a nice junction between the past and the present. Anyway, even if I think the logo proposed by Nishi is really not very nice (it is very very basic), it is not the most important thing about MSX3.
Mr. Nishi: do whatever you want with the 3 but keep the original letters. They are gorgeous and a link to past MSX generations.
MRC Team: poll now on the front page!
here is my take!
I showed the different logos to a few people which several of whom don't know MSX (those from Twiter included but not one from Geijoenr). Almost everyone have chosen the old logo with the Nishi's 3 that is here:

No one chose a thin logo !!!
Geijoenr, I like the your too. Simple and efficient. It is remarkable among several logos that we sometimes have to put to indicate compatibility.

In the case of the MSX, it's not just a brand logo but a compatibility indicator.
Can Nishi contact a good graphic designer please?

God hears you.
For the first time the MSX is not backward compatible... with the logo!! Hard to believe.
The proof that it was a really bad decision and strategy are the multiple negative reactions. Maintaining the original logo, complaints would be zero.
