I'm not really a hardware or software genious, but I do have a question about either one of them... Hopefully I get an answer...
Here's the case:
I have a fully original Philips NMS8250 here with a music module connected to it.
This music module is used as MIDI interface to my synthesizers.
Those synthesizers are lined to my PC (3GHz machine running XP at the moment and win2K before and asap afterwards).
I got a tweaked version of MBWAVE which spews MIDI data instead of OPL4.
I've made several musics with this conviguration by letting my PC record channel after channel and then multitracking it afterwards.
A few weeks ago, while I still had win2k running, and now as well with XP, I run into lags.
2 samples of exactly the same length, recorded from MBWAVE (midi) into my PC show length differences.
After about 45 seconds it starts echoing and at about 1 minute it's friggin false.
Could it be that my MSX is not totally consequent in its speed, or do I have to search for the solution somewhere else?
Mind that this problem is from the last few weeks... Before there was nothing wrong when working on this unorthodox method... I'd like to add a few more tunes to the SceneMusicRemake challenge, but this way it gets rather uncomphy...
If there's more you need to know about my configuration, say so.
Ehm... help?
Cheers in advance
