I got most of my (limited) knowledge from Dutch MSX magazines (mostly MCM). I suppose there must've been some Spanish mag with technical articles too, right? Alternatively you could also have a look at the MSX red/green/blue/whatever Book, but that one is a bit of a boring read. IIRC the MSX-DOS2 tech doc had some info on this type of thing too, but I could be wrong. Anyhoo, the standard documentation has most of this info, it's just not very phun to read. All you really need to know about the BIOS is how to page it out tho... Wink

How to use the nowind in combination with a hdd interface (mega scsi in this case, but CF-IDE tested also)? When I insert both in the MSX I only get to the basic screen. I used on the pc: usbhost -m master.dsk -a -j where master.dsk is a sunrise hdd image with dos2 command on it. The mega scsi has that too.

When i flash nowinddos2.rom to the nowind i can boot in dos2 and load the fat16 driver, but the fat16 partitions on the hdd are not accessible at all. A pity because I bought the Nowind to copy on an easy way large files (eva movies) from the pc to the msx...

I use Nowind icw a Gouda SCSI and a Sunrise IDE with the folowing commandline usbhost -a - d -m hddpc1.dsk. I use version 4.0 on a Turbo-R and use nowinddos2.rom in the interface. I can boot from an image i made with Bluemsx and can read and write between all disks including a CF Card wich has FAT16. The only problem i have is that EURO-RM2.COM does not work with the MSX DOS 2 in the Nowind interface, so i don't have an european keyboard and dos. (The typical Yen as prompt etc.)

W: do you use the latest firmware and host software?

AJ: I'm still planning to make a backup of my Gouda SCSI harddisk... So, that works? You can copy stuff from the SCSI disk to the NoWind virtual hard disk?

What configuration do you use? I mean which MSX, what firmware, internal DOS2, etc.? With that information we can try to duplicate the situation. At this moment you need the -a switch on a Turbo-R. So you have to use the internal DOS2.31. We're working on a fix for this problem.

Btw. the -a switch only disables diskroms found after Nowind.

I use an TurboR with it's internal Dos2 on the Nowind I use v4 firmware. I can't test it right now, because I don't have it at home atm.
