hehe, I remember listening to some Bronski Beat tunes.
Yeah, and Axel F too.
Convert MIDI files to MSX Play? is that possible?
I have not seen such a program, but in theory... why not...
Play command can be used to controll MIDI-devices. There are also plenty of programs that can play *.MID on external midi syntethisator and at least Meridian can load *.MID and play it on MoonSound. I think there was also some program for MSX-Audio that emulated MIDI synth. Yamaha SFG-05 can do that as well...
Anyway all of this is a bit offtopic :)
i believe i have that disc with basic music somewhere, i will look in to that, but if it is not written on the disc it self, i will never find it. but i will give it a try.

sorry could not find it for you
I've found in my HD a compilation of Basic PSG/FM tunes. Hope this helps!
I would also love to see some more PLAY tunes...:)

YEAH!!!!! Smalltown Boy!!!!!!!!!
Look for the MSX-Engine disks and Sunrise Picturedisks.
They had G.R.E.A.T. Japanese & Western MML songs.
Some of 'em pulled shit which you couldn't even accomplish with Moonblaster 1.4
Hardly surprising, MB traded functionality for editing speed and a simple layout. MML is the opposite: lots of possibilities at the cost of having to endure an obfuscated looking language..
Yes, well put.
Still think it's a bleeding shame that MB 1.4 didn't allow much to do with the PSG though.
..among the many other things I could mention..
Weren't you guys very pleased with Moonblaster like 15 years ago
?
@Demonseed... What we pulled off with Illusions was just play general midi files. They were stolen from Illusion City by entering the music mode and recording the tunes with another MSX using a program called C-Quensr.
Playing the files on a Moonsound required a second MSX with a Moonsound and a midi interface inserted while running midi2opl4
So in fact the MSX running Illusions did nothing more than spewing mid data...
