Everybody knows the Konami Cartridge combination trick (insert a second Konami cartridge in another slot to get some extra features). Well, Konami did it again on the Nintendo DS. When you play Castlevania Dawn of sorrow and insert the GBA title Castlevania Aria of sorrow in the GBA slot, you get an extra ring at the start of the game and a cameo appearence of Mina (a character from Aria of sorrow). These guys must have known MSX when making this game. Are there more examples of such combinations on other systems?

Yeah that's pretty cool! I don't know any other games that do that... Well, in some games you can get extra credits (I think with GT4, if you've played/finished? GT3 you get some extra credits).

In Metal Gear Solid, they do something like this, but it doesn't change the gameplay. Psycho Mantis reads the memorycard and if you've played some Konami games (Castlevania, Suikoden, also Snatcher in the Japanese version) he makes some comments about that. Unfortunately it's limited to Konami games, I wish they'd include some other popular games from other companies as well. Except for Castlevania SotN, the supported games weren't played be many people, so most people missed the memory card reading experience.

I knew the Psycho Mantis trick. He was just rattling on about my Castlevania and Suikoden skills, so I just had to kill him. Tongue

In DS with both goemon games, DS & GBA you can play Space Manbow.
