I think everybody know´s that the MSX section @ e-bay is very strange this times. I am watching every single MSX auction last 3 weeks and i search a few times a day for new buy it now auctions. There was not a single game (excpect the mint Aleste for around 60 Euros) in a normal price range (imo) and the only game i personally get was a mint copy of contra (100€ !) which was way too high i guess.

Now i have placed a bit on the space manbow, but something in me says that around 200€ will be too expensive for this game and in a few weeks when all these scammers have left ebay, they will sell a copy for 120euros or something like that.

Here are many collectors so can you collect "normal" price ranges for the most common games ?

This will help me and many others much !

Sorry for my bad englisch
-Daniel

The sellers are scammers, because they don't want to sell you rare and highly sought after games for the price of peanuts? Great logic there, skipper. You should apply for a Nobel prize in economics.

Collecting is always expensive, unless it's your own nail clippings and skin peels.

If you are a gamer who doesn't care about the whole "my precious" thing, get yourself MegaFlashSCC from Manuel Pazos, or build a MegaRamSCC using ESE MSX Factory instructions. Then you can play almost every game.

Welcome to the collector's world.Do not think that everyone is a scammer.IF you had a metal gear 2 solid or space manbow cartridge would you like to sell it for 15 euros?

No.The supply and demand style is present always.I consider myself lucky because i managed to purchase many konami roms from Evupolah (full box,and manuals in top condition) with as little as about 33 euros per game.

I was lucky because he was selling all of these cartridges.

You have to search always, and be prepared to pay huge amounts of money for some cartridges.

Space Manbow is never going to be cheap.
It's a collectors item. The same for Metal gear 2 Solid snake.

Regarding high prices :For example: F1 spirit is not collectors item,i have 2 cartridges of it.One was bought for 21 euros plus shipping and other 33 euros plus shipping.I do not consider it to be so rare.A1 spirit is rare though.I have 3, Yier kung fu 2 (full box, instructions leaflets etc).I bought one for 20 euros, second for 14 euros, and third for 16 euros.

You have to know the price range of games you want to buy.

And yes you are right sometimes prices are outrageous.I have seen Sd snatcher for 299$ dollars. No one is forcing you to buy these cartridges though.

I have paid 148 euros for Quarth of Konami because i wanted to have a complete list of those games, and 240 euros for a mint condition Metal Gear 2.

My advice is that there are certain games within the 30-35 euro range and it's easy to spot them (like f1 spirit).

Some that are VERY expensive (Space Manbow,Pippols,Quarth,Metal Gear 2 etc).

It's up to you.Observer the games you want to buy,and check the prices.
Dont go like a maniac trying to start bid wars because there are people that could take advantage of that (Soukasen3 comes to my mind,he sells good cartridges but at VERY high prices, there must be something wrong,he must be using friends to raise the price of the bids).

Regards

Sorry, there was a missunderstanding because of the language problem;
with scammer i mean only the one person with three different names, bidding on his own games ^-^

I have no problem with paying a lot of money for one game, but i have problem with international ebay price pushing, and that what actuall happens on ebay is not normal.

It is impossibel to different between "collectors price" and "pushed price"

What i search for is something like a "price guide" from MSX collectors

@nikodr: Evupolah? Tongue

Yes, I sold the whole batch to my friend from Greece.. and as an example: I bought (again) a Vampire Killer in mint condition... most VK boxes are yellow, this one delicious white!! I bought the game for 25 euros... that's very cheap but still possible!!

Most konami's (japan & european versions) can be bought between 25 and 50 euros.. it's always the same titles that go for large prices.. space manbow, MG2:SN, (SD)snatcher etc..

In the Netherlands we have local bidding sites instead of the international bidding site E-Bay.. maybe your country have those sites too... the games on local bidding sites are always cheaper...

Evulopah sorry i mispelled your name Smile By the way,i still feel lucky that i have bought your collection!

Some facts about bad sellers:
I think that soukasen3 is a suspicious seller, and one i would advice you to check and place limits upon the bids you place as always there are some guys out of nowhere that only bid on his auctions and raise the price a few moments before the bid ends.

Now regarding prices you have to be more specific in the item you wish to obtain.
The reason i told you to be careful of bid wars is that sometimes you may pay more for an item that costs less.

Right before i bought Evulopah's konami collection of games,i wanted to buy Shalom 3 by konami,i didn't know the price and bought it 120 euros from a buy it auction in know ebay.

That may have been a mistake...

Now regarding good sellers i highly recommend Jpconfidence,Rklok,Leom037 from ebay.Their prices are right and their "buy now" prices are affordable and not crazy.

You should check them.

@Uahd: Yes it is.. and that's also the discussion in this topic.. the prices are driven up by 'friends' of the seller...

So a nice price for a SD-Snatcher in mint condition is really 120 euro but sometimes driven up to 175 euros....

And if you, as a collector, think it's a fair price you have to buy it...

But for those prices the game HAS to be in mint condition.. there are persons who sell those games voor a huge amount of money while the box is damaged and the manual is teared!!! Sad

120 euro is not very accurate. Just because SD Snatcher is directed by Hideo Kojima the price is about 200 euro. Same goes for Snatcher and Metal Gear 1&2
