Long time no post.

I've been playing Come On! Picot for a few days lately through emulation and enjoying it. The last time was sometime in the late 80s as a kid, but I wasn't any good back then. Now I'm much better at this game and I've almost finished it.

Anyway, the reason I made this thread is to ask the backstory of this game. Anyone know it? I tried googling and the best I could find was partial back cover of the European version of the game from MSX Generation site, telling something about enemies being after player's scalp. The thing is: I'd want to know more than that.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get. I'm surprised there's not much info about this game in the Internet... even in Japanese.

A very interesting game indeed. You mention you've almost finished it - can you tell what the actual purpose or end goal of this game is then, if you know you're approaching the end?

Much like e.g. Jack the Nipper II or Auf Wiedersehen Monty, as fun as it was simply playing and walking around, I never knew what it was one was supposed to achieve in this game. I've now learned that for the two aforementioned Gremlin games but still not for this one.

There. I finished this interesting game recently. The ending was really brief and kinda tricky to get, but it had a nice twist, so I'm not complaining. I won't spoil what the ending is, so you'll have to find it out for yourself.

I don't have the game manual for this game, so I don't know what the backstory is, but I do know that you'll have to collect something that looks like torn pieces of paper from the 10th-floor tower. The 10th, final floor is closed until you've collected all the 8 pieces. Once you're in the final floor, you'll need to find a certain hidden item to beat the game. What this hidden item is, I won't be spoiling either.

Since there's not much coverage of this game in the net, I've made a gameplay video and uploaded it to YouTube:

I'm also working on a map for this game and it's coming along nicely (2 first floors already mapped). It will be done in the style of MSX Solutions maps. Speaking of which, does anyone know if the admin of MSX Solutions site accept maps made by other people, other than the admin himself? Thanks.

Too bad that some of the stuff doesn't match with the game's ending, making me to believe that guys at Eaglesoft didn't beat this game before releasing it and also didn't translate Japanese instructions to English properly. I guess I'll have to get my hands on the Japanese manual somehow to really understand the backstory of this game. At least that's what I'm hoping for. :P

I can just try to imagine how his girlfriend may feel, after how that guy has treated her.... I don´t say more, as someone may want to beat this game and not hear/see ending from youtube.
