I've just ordered my first MSX2 from Bas, and I intend to use it for some simple music composition and the occasional game. So now I'm on the lookout for an FM-PAC or any MSX-music compatible cartridge that I can compose for both in basic (with "call music") and eventually MuSICA.

I live in Sweden, and I'd prefer paying with Paypal, but EU bank transfer is OK, too.

Regards,
Philip

PS. I've seen a Philips MSX music module on eBay, but I'm reluctant to buy it since I can't find any information on whether it has the BASIC extensions needed for call music, or if it's compatible with MuSICA.

Music Module has no BASIC afaik. And FM-PAC sounds a bit fatter due an extra operator waveform anyway.

Thank you for the answer. I have also seen a "Stereo FM PAK" on eBay, which according to the ultimate MSX FAQ does not have the BASIC extensions, but a Google search yields conflicting results (more specifically, this thread: http://www.msx.org/forumtopic5570.html ). So what do you guys say? Does it or does it not have FM-BASIC?

Sorry, the FAQ was wrong, the Checkmark FM Stereo PAK does have FM Basic. I fixed it now.

Music Module has Basic since FRS patched the MSX Audio Basic and made an upgrade board for the Music Module. Currently, 50 of these PCB's are being made.

You could contact this friendly guy. (link.marktplaats.nl/284811732) He has the original FM-Pac from Panasonic for sale. It comes with the manual and the box and... ofcourse it has the basic extension.

Thanks for the help, people! I managed to score a Stereo FM-PAK on ebay.nl, so I'm fine now. I've been listening OPX music all day!
