Folks,

I have read pdf schema at:

However I have some questions.

I don't need to cut any connection on R800 CPU (like on ST), just to wire 36, 37, 38 and 41 pins as on diagram below?

Then I need to solder strap at J302, connecting the two solder points (making a jumper) ?

And finally, desolder R352 (a SMD resistor), and put it on R353 ?

That's all? Nobody tried 60ns memory on GT? I know 70ns has problems, but what about 60ns?

Looking around 60ns do not work on ST, but it could on GT (my guess).

Btw, is kinda funny 70ns works fine on ST, but not on GT (80ns was confirmed working).

Waiting for a reply.

Hmm... if I read the above schematic correctly, it looks like a circuit to add mapper bit D5 (for 1M mapper) read-back to I/O ports (mapper ports FC~FFh, I assume). But I don't see that extra address bit being used as RAM/mapper address line.

Meaning: 1M mapper support already built in on FS-A1GT? And I suspect, the above solder strap modifications might serve to enable that extra address line & feed it to the DRAMs? Question Just speculating here, relevant Turbo-R docs are still Missing In Action (I know Turbo-R schematic is available, I'm talking about complete pin functions / datasheets for R800 & Turbo-R engine IC's).

If that is the case, those solder strap/resistor modifications (+placing 1M x 4 bit DRAMs) would be all that's needed for a 1MB mapper. And above circuitry would be an optional add-on to make programs work that don't use memory mappers properly... like your average crappy-constructed megaROM crack Wink I put a similar circuit in a Sanyo Wavy of mine once, and it did what it was supposed to do (add read-back for D5 mapper bit). Sanyo Wavy 2+ shares a lot of tech with a Turbo-R, but they're not the same...

Somebody already tried above mods + circuitry, and can say if/how well it works?

Btw. anyone ever tried getting 4Mx4 chips (Fast Page Mode, not EDO preferably) to work on a Turbo-R? And what about SRAM (512Kx8, or 2Mx8 which would usually be 3.3V type) ? Not that I couldn't try myself, but a) I don't have a Turbo-R, b) don't want to f**k up any Turbo-R, and c) re-inventing the wheel is stupid waste of time.

I can do a lot better diagram, but for that I need to sort out all my questions.

I was looking for a simple answer, but now a R370 (not on pdf) appeared from nothing. Crying

It seems a lot MSX users are lazy to do a better diagram for anyone (not talking about this one, but a lot out there).

I really hope some GT owner, who already did this (1MB upgrade) appear here and sort out any doubt.
