Hi everyone,

A few years ago i put all my msx software onto 160kb disk images. I now want to convert them into 360kb or 720kb images for the use in emulators.

Does anyone know a tool for this that can convert in some sort of batch/automatic mode so i don't have to convert all of them by hand?

Kind Regards,

Dennis

the classical rddsk and wrdsk tools can do it if you wrap them in some scripting, I suppose. Or openMSX.

160kB is weird though, very very unusual. I'm not sure they are supported by any of these tools.

I've made the images with Disk Manager, a util from Lex Lechz. To save diskspace i made them 160kb, but bluemsx can't read these discs. rddsk doesn't support the 160kb image file, so i'll try OpenMSX. Thanks for your help.

OpenMSX also supports gzip'ed disk images (and roms). Much easier and even smaller than 160k images. I suspect bluemsx will support some form of compression too.

Hmm, just use dir-as-disk? Also, what is disk space these days??

The 160 kB disk format sounds like a single sided 5.25" format... So you need to emulate a drive which can handle such disks.
